I got this for our entryway. With a family of four, I needed something to better store our shoes. The cubbies are small for adult shoes to sit side by side but is great for kids and I can make do with turning shoes on their side. I wouldn't give up how many cubbies it has to make them bigger.It came together pretty easily. The pieces aren't labeled but they matched up clearly with the pictures in the instructions and if you have experience with IKEA or any flatpack furniture assembly it should not be too hard. There is a bit of a smell to it fresh out of the box, so I tried to keep a fan on or window open. The description specifically said it is non-toxic so this may just be from sitting in a box with foam for a long time. It is very heavy and sturdy but I think the actual board is somewhat soft. There is one place where it is already dented a little bit but I don't think it was that way when it came out of the package, so somehow it happened during assembly and I don't remember anything happening that may have dented it. Oh well. The middle dividers are definitely the weakest part but are still pretty solid and put together fairly ingeniously. I was able to assemble it on my own (with "help" from two young kids) but had to get help in order to move it into the entryway (too narrow to assemble it there).The cloth on top of the picture is just to try and protect the top. It looks very nice and has a beveled edge. We will see how it holds up and I'm sure it will get dinged just being in a walk-through area, but if it helps our entryway stay organized it will be well worth the price. Amazon was $68 less than Wayfair and having it delivered right to my door at 114 pounds was awfully nice.
